Rihanna's Dad: "It's Good and It's Bad to See the Picture"

Rihanna's father tells Usmagazine.com the leaked photo, allegedly of his daughter after her Feb. 8 altercation with Chris Brown, is "terrible."

"Yeah, I saw it," Ronald Fenty told Us in a telephone interview Friday morning. "It's disturbing."

The photo shows a female, who appears to be Rihanna, with bruises and cuts on her forehead, lips and cheeks.

Fenty said people now will be able to "grasp the situation a lot better.

"It's good and it's bad to see the picture because there's other people who were thinking differently, that [Rihanna's injuries] may not be that bad, just a little spank or a little thing."

Los Angeles Police have launched an internal investigation Thursday to determine who leaked the photo.

"The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence," the LAPD said in a statement Thursday. "A violation of this type is considered serious misconduct, with penalties up to and including termination."

Rihanna turns 21 today. Her close friends took out a birthday greeting in the local Barbados newspaper. "Amidst all the negativity about Ri Ri. God will continue to bless her," they said. Link to this topic

Jessica Simpson Fights Tears, Flubs Line at Michigan Concert

Jessica Simpson struggled through her Thursday night performance in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

For her 35-minute opening act, the singer, who showed off her controversial curves in short jean shorts and tan cowboy boots, wiped away tears, forgot her words and dedicated a song to her sister Ashlee -- for "when I feel like walking off the stage."

"Her energy level was low, especially when singing her more upbeat songs, 'These Boots Are Made for Walking' and 'With You,'" an eyewitness tells Usmagazine.com. "Most of the concert she spent looking straight into the crowd or had her back to the audience to compose herself."

While singing "Forgiveness," she turned away from the audience to compose herself as she began to cry. She seemed to lose her place during several songs, The Grand Rapids Press reports, and asked her band to start over on "Pray Out Loud."


"Dear God, help me get through this tonight," she said. "You probably just heard me say that; I have a weak voice and I'm feeling vulnerable tonight."

While singing "With You," she "paused during the middle of the song to take a drink of water while her backup singers took over the lead vocals," the Press reports.

Simpson also dedicated her last song, "Do You Know," to Ashlee, and said her sis gives her strength to keep going,"especially when I feel like walking off the stage."
