Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift (visit his official website) are just like any other pair of best friends, mega-fame aside, of course. In the new issue of Nylon magazine, on stands January 29, Gomez talks about the bond she has formed over the years with Swift.
"We both experienced the same things at the same time," she says. "But we've never once talked about our industry. She just became the person I'd go to for an issue with my family or boyfriend. It's so hard to trust girls, so I'm lucky to have her."
It’s safe to say then that Gomez has likely been turning to Swift in the wake of her breakup with Justin Bieber. At press time “Jelena” was on-again, but the “Spring Breakers” star still played coy about her romance.
“I’m just having fun,” Gomez, 20, said about her at-the-time-active relationship. She and Bieber have been tabloid fodder from the moment they first got together, but Gomez confesses she doesn’t read blogs unless it’s “really bad.”
“It blows my mind that somebody wakes up every morning and goes to their little office and meets with people to just make stuff up,” she continues.
Gomez — who is currently single and loving it — was asked if it’s easier to date someone like Justin who’s also in the business and knows the drill.
“At the end of the day, love is such a normal thing, and everyone deals with it,” she responded. “Just because it’s a different lifestyle doesn¹t change the meaning of what I’ve been raised on, which is fairy tales.”
Next up for the “Love You Like a Love Song” singer is her racy film “Spring Breakers” which also stars Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson. But don’t expect the Disney darling to shed her good girl image just yet. Read more at OMG
